Centerlining

JesusEyesAt the time I retired from my job at Sun-Maid we were in the process of centerlining all the production lines. The basic premise is to run each machine, fine tuning it as you go, until you discover the combination of settings whereby the machine performs at its optimum ability. I was thinking about this the other day…only not so much about the equipment on a production line as much as Father…and the centerlining He is always doing in my life.

Father is constantly trying to bring me…us…back to places in him where our focus, our purpose, our drive…is found in Him.

We all have activities we participate in be it school, work, organizations, clubs, relationships…life! And Father wants to be at the heart of all we do…not just a part of it…or an invited guest…He wants to be the basis for it. And when He is…we function at our optimum capacity.

No matter the circumstance or situation, when Father is the heart of our being, we move and think and act and re-act in the ways of Him; in love, patience, compassion, understanding, forgiveness and wisdom to name a few.

Life can come at us so quickly that we barely have time to recover from one situation before another has begun to develop. But we do not have to run out of energy; or find ourselves grasping at straws to try and figure out the best course of action, or the right words to say. We just need to be centered in Father, seeking to know His ways, and then living our life according to what we have learned. Living…not by what we see…but what we know!

We sing a wonderful song at our church; it is powerful and one my heart always responds to; I think that’s because it always refocuses my attention on Him…and that is what my life is suppose to be all about.

Be the Center by Michael Frye

Jesus be the center
Be my source be my light, Jesus
Jesus be the center
Be my hope, be my song, Jesus
Be the fire in my heart
Be the wind in my sails
Be the reason that I live Jesus, Jesus
Jesus, be my vision Be my path, be my guide, Jesus
Be the fire in my heart
Be the wind in my sails
Be the reason that I live Jesus, Jesus

When life’s situations cause you to feel unbalanced, knocked off course, or maybe even heading in a direction away from Father, ask Him to bring all things back under Himself. Ask Jesus to come be the center of all you do and think. Allow Him to be your source, your guide…your everything! Allow the Holy Spirit to centerline your heart in keeping with the Father’s…then you will find yourself moving and acting and thinking in the way we were created to be!

Anyways….I was just thinking…
